Nigerian singer Darey Art Alade and his wife, Deola, have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to God and everyone who supported them after their car caught fire on Lagos State’s Third Mainland Bridge.
The frightening incident happened around 4pm on Friday, completely destroying their vehicle. Deola shared videos on Instagram showing the damage and described the event as both shocking and painful. Thankfully, she emphasized that no one was hurt.
“Our car caught fire yesterday around 4pm on the 3rd Mainland Bridge and was completely destroyed,” she wrote. “Though it was a frightening experience, we’re so thankful the driver escaped unharmed. The fact that no lives were lost is what really matters.”
Deola reflected on how such moments make us appreciate life over possessions, saying, “It’s a reminder of how quickly things can change and how material things lose their importance compared to life itself.”
She also explained that sharing their experience was meant to encourage others dealing with sudden loss. “We’re not looking for sympathy but want to remind someone that belongings can be replaced, but lives cannot. We are grateful to God for protecting us, giving us perspective, and the quiet strength to move forward.”
Ending her message with hope for those going through difficult times, she said, “If you’re facing sudden loss, remember this: we can rebuild, start over, and find strength to carry on. One breath, one prayer, one step at a time. We give thanks for everything. Thank you to everyone who stopped to help.”
Following the post, fans and fellow celebrities have sent prayers and well-wishes to the couple.
