Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has publicly addressed the passing of his junior colleague, Ola Lawal, expressing heartbreak over the young actor’s sudden death during a movie production reportedly helmed by filmmaker Bola Akande.
In a post shared via his Instagram page, Johnson voiced his disappointment over Akande’s silence following the tragic incident. While he made it clear that he does not hold the filmmaker directly responsible for Ola's death, he urged her to speak up, explain her side of the story, and offer support to the bereaved family.
“We’re shocked and saddened by OLA’s passing. Your silence is deafening. We’re not blaming you for his death, but we urge you to acknowledge the situation, share your side of the story, and consider supporting the family,” Johnson wrote.
He also conveyed the dismay felt by the late actor’s father, stating that the family felt disrespected when they were asked for an account number shortly after Ola’s death—an action interpreted as lacking empathy.
“The father feels disrespected, citing a lack of human feeling by requesting the brother’s account number shortly after OLA’s passing, as if he were for sale,” Johnson added
He went on to praise fellow industry member Segun Okeowo for showing concern and reaching out to the family, noting, “Mr. @segunokeowo_kso has been the sole caller, showing empathy.”
In his closing remarks, Johnson emphasized the call for justice and dignity for the deceased actor.
