Nigerian rapper Yung6ix has made an emotional appeal to fans and the public as he battles to quit smoking marijuana after 21 years of consistent use.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, the US-based rapper revealed that his body has begun reacting negatively to the substance, and he is now seeking help to fully quit. He explained that although he's been trying to stop, it hasn't been an easy journey.
“Coming out today to tell everyone I need help. I’ve been smoking for 21 years now, and my body is telling me to stop. I’m trying, but it’s not easy. I’ve reduced how much I spend buying weed to $600 a month, and I need help to turn that to $0. Any help?” he wrote.
The rapper’s honest confession has since drawn attention on social media, sparking reactions from fans and observers. Many applauded him for his bravery and transparency, describing it as a bold step in the right direction.
Several followers encouraged him to seek professional help and not to be ashamed of the struggle, as addiction is a challenge many face quietly. Others offered emotional support, advice, and words of encouragement, with some even sharing their own experiences of overcoming similar habits.
This is not the first time Yung6ix has opened up about personal challenges. Known for his outspoken nature, the rapper has in the past shared stories about his life and experiences in the music industry.
As support continues to pour in, fans are hopeful that Yung6ix will stay strong on his journey toward healing and complete recovery.
