Jennifer Awele, widow of beloved Nollywood actor Junior Pope, took to Instagram on May 7, 2025, to honor what would have been his 45th birthday with a heartfelt message and touching memories.
Sharing an emotional clip of Junior Pope and their family, Jennifer reflected on how painful it is to mark his special day in his absence. Known for surprising him with birthday treats in the past, she expressed her grief at now commemorating him with tears and memories instead.
“In July 2010, You Asked My Birth Date. I Asked For Yours, And You Said The Last Day In The First Week Of May, And I Said 7th? You Said (Smart With A Clap),” she recalled in her post.
“It’s May 7th 2025, And I’m Not Celebrating You With My Different Birthday Surprises (I Doubt I Missed Any), Not With Candles And Cakes But With Tears And Memories And A Heart That Still Beats In Rhythm With Yours.
I Had A Lot In Mind To Type, But At This Point, Words Fail Me.
Happy 45th Birthday, Our Daddy In Heaven.
We Carry Your Love In Everything We Do.

The emotional post drew condolences and support from fellow Nollywood stars.
Actress Uche Nnanna reacted with heartbroken and crying emojis,
while Destiny Etiko simply wrote, “Chai.”
Veteran actress Ebelle Okaro added, “May He continue to rest in the Lord,”
and Kris Asimonye offered comforting words: “So many beautiful memories. I pray for healing and strength beyond human comprehension, sis. The Holy Spirit will continue to hold your hands till the very end.”
