Nigerian clergyman Kingsley Okonkwo has taken to social media to challenge Nigerian men on their approach to relationships, particularly when it comes to consistent communication with their partners.
Using the micro-blogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Pastor Okonkwo shared a thought-provoking message aimed at encouraging men to be more intentional and committed in their romantic relationships. Drawing a parallel from the Bible, he referenced the Apostle Paul, who despite being imprisoned, continued to communicate and inspire others by writing letters to the early churches.
In his post, he questioned why some men find it difficult to keep in touch with their significant others throughout the day, despite having far fewer limitations compared to Paul. He wrote, “If Paul wrote letter to the churches while he was in prison, what’s your excuse for not texting your woman for the whole day?”
The clergyman’s comment sparked a range of reactions online, with many users either defending the modern-day distractions and busyness men face or agreeing with his call for greater emotional responsibility. Pastor Okonkwo, known for his teachings on relationships and family life, often uses relatable scenarios to address issues within romantic partnerships, urging both men and women to communicate better and prioritize their loved ones.
