Veteran Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi has commended fellow actress Iyabo Ojo for involving her ex-husband in their daughter Priscilla’s wedding, describing the gesture as admirable and a teachable moment.
Speaking in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Ronke reflected on Iyabo's parenting journey, recalling how she often saw the actress moving around with her children when they were younger. She praised Iyabo’s dedication as a mother and expressed deep respect for her decision to include Priscilla’s father in the wedding festivities.
“I give kudos to Iyabo Ojo. When Priscilla and her brother were young, she always went everywhere with them. She is a devoted mother. I now respect her more when I saw Priscilla’s Dad at the wedding. I also learnt a lesson from her,” Ronke said.
She then shifted focus to gospel singer Tope Alabi, who recently faced criticism for the absence of her children’s father at their daughter’s wedding. Ronke urged the public not to rush to judgment, suggesting that the decision may have been the daughter’s.
“Don’t let us blame Tope Alabi for not allowing the father of her daughter to be present at her wedding. The girl is 27 years old, maybe she was the one who didn’t want to see her dad. She is an adult. If she really wanted her dad, she would have insisted to her mum. I am not supporting what Tope did, but let us take it easy on her,” she explained.
Ronke concluded by reaffirming her belief that Priscilla genuinely wanted her father involved, as evidenced by his presence at the event.
