South African singer Tyla emerged victorious as the ‘Favourite Afrobeats Artist’ at the 2025 American Music Awards, outperforming prominent Nigerian stars Wizkid, Rema, Tems, and Asake.
The event, held at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, was dominated by Billie Eilish, who swept all seven categories she was nominated for, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for Hit Me Hard and Soft, and Song of the Year for Birds of a Feather.
Other standout winners included Beyoncé, who earned Favourite Female Country Artist and Favourite Country Album for Cowboy Carter, as well as Post Malone, who took home Favourite Male Country Artist.
Celebrating musical diversity across genres, the ceremony saw some notable snubs, with Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande failing to secure wins despite multiple nominations.
