Nigerian comedian-turned-clergyman Woli Arole has publicly denounced the belief that women should remain silent or voiceless in marriage.
In a recent Instagram post, he criticized the outdated ideology that women are not allowed to express their opinions in a marital setting.
Arole emphasized that submission in marriage does not equate to silence or lack of intelligence. He reminded men that their wives are meant to be helpers, not subordinates.
“Men, submission doesn’t mean dumbness; your wife is your help,” he wrote, stressing that sometimes, the direction or salvation of a home can come through the woman’s voice.
