Controversial social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has reportedly been arrested following a heated confrontation with officials at a Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) branch over alleged unauthorized debits from his account.

According to eyewitnesses and viral reports online, the arrest occurred earlier today after VeryDarkMan stormed a GTBank branch to demand explanations for multiple mysterious deductions from his account.

The influencer, known for his bold and unfiltered style, reportedly caused a scene at the bank, insisting that he had been robbed through “legal theft” and vowing to expose the bank’s operations.

In several now-deleted posts made just before his arrest, VeryDarkMan accused GTBank of criminal practices, claiming he had been debited multiple times without any explanation or reversal.

He alleged that when he approached the bank for answers, he was met with silence and disdain.

His followers have since taken to social media to express outrage, calling for his immediate release and demanding accountability from the bank.

Many argue that the arrest amounts to an abuse of power and suppression of free speech, especially as the influencer was only voicing concerns shared by several customers across Nigeria.

GTBank has yet to release an official statement on the incident, but the backlash is already growing. Advocacy groups are also beginning to weigh in, calling for consumer protection agencies to intervene.

This arrest adds to a growing list of controversies surrounding VeryDarkMan, who has faced multiple legal challenges due to his outspoken activism.

As the situation unfolds, the spotlight now turns to GTBank’s next move and whether the bank will be held accountable for the arrest of a citizen demanding transparency.
