Nollywood actor and director Tope Adebayo, son of legendary actor Adebayo Salami (widely known as Oga Bello) and brother to filmmaker Femi Adebayo, has spoken out to dismiss recent rumors linking him romantically to actress Fathia Balogun.

In a recent interview, Tope expressed deep frustration over the false claims, which he alleged were initiated by a fellow industry colleague.

“I’m very sad at the moment because there has been a false rumour spread about me and Fathia,” he said. “An actor accused me of dating and having sex with her, and it’s not true.”

While acknowledging the strong professional connection he shares with Fathia, Tope clarified that their relationship is founded solely on mutual respect and professional support.

“Fathia is my helper, not my lover,” he emphasized. “When I wanted to become a director, many actors discouraged me. But Fathia believed in me and gave me the chance to direct five of her movies, even when I had no prior experience.”

Tope concluded by reiterating the strength of their friendship, which he said is built on appreciation and respect.
