Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has taken a swipe at Cubana Chief Priest following reports of the nightlife entrepreneur’s visit to President Bola Tinubu at the State House.

In a post shared on his verified X account, Seyi Law expressed disappointment in individuals who publicly criticize the government yet privately seek its favors.

He accused certain celebrities and influencers of pandering to public sentiment on social media, especially when it aligns with the growing frustration towards the current administration.

However, according to Seyi, those same people are often found behind closed doors lobbying or enjoying privileges from the same system they claim to oppose.

The comedian cited Cubana Chief Priest as a prime example, noting that while some public figures are quick to court public sympathy and appear anti-establishment online, they are not above forming connections with the corridors of power.

Seyi Law, who has openly declared his support for President Tinubu, said such duplicity should not be ignored and hinted that time would expose those who are not being sincere.

He also claimed that the President personally called Instagram influencer Tunde Ednut to wish him a happy birthday, an act he said shows Tinubu is more connected to Nigeria's entertainment scene than many critics assume.

This revelation, however, did not sit well with many social media users, who believe Seyi is trying too hard to justify his political leanings.

Critics online also pointed out that despite his support for the administration, Seyi Law has not been seen at the State House, unlike others like Cubana Chief Priest.

This has led to some trolling the comedian, suggesting that his public defense of Tinubu hasn’t granted him meaningful access. Seyi Law, however, remains unfazed and insists that truth and time will vindicate him.
