Nollywood actress Grace Bassey has made headlines after announcing her enlistment in the United States Navy, marking a bold new chapter in her life. The actress, who is also now a naturalized US citizen, shared the emotional and inspirational update with her fans via her official Instagram account.
Bassey, who is known for her roles in Nigerian films, reflected on her journey with heartfelt appreciation. She dedicated this milestone to her late father, Naval Commander Asido Bassey Effah, whose legacy she says continues to guide her.
In her post, Grace acknowledged the dual impact of both Nigeria and the United States on her personal development, noting that while Nigeria nurtured her roots, America pushed her to grow beyond limits.
“Last week, I completed boot camp as a U.S. Navy Sailor and also took the oath of citizenship. Nigeria made me who I am. America challenged me to be more,” she wrote, adding that she now stands more determined than ever.
