Joseph Aloba, father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has revealed that he spent N16 million to conduct an autopsy on his son in the wake of widespread controversy surrounding his death.
Mohbad passed away in 2023 under circumstances that raised significant public concern. Many fans and observers speculated that the young artist may have been a victim of foul play, leading to strong calls for a proper investigation into the cause of his death.
Following these demands, a post-mortem examination was carried out, with preliminary reports suggesting the possibility of a fatal anaphylactic reaction or complications from medication. However, this explanation did not put public skepticism to rest, and discussions about what truly led to the singer’s death have continued.
During a recent live session, Mr. Aloba stated that he initially paid N16 million for the autopsy and spent nearly an additional N2 million afterward. He stood firmly by his claim, challenging anyone involved in the process to dispute his statement.
“I first paid them sixteen million naira. I still know I spent close to N2 million after that,” he said. “If I’m lying, let the person who collected the money come forward. What I’ve said since then remains unchanged.”
The revelation has triggered mixed reactions online, with some social media users expressing skepticism and others urging the public to let the late singer rest in peace.
