Actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie has addressed rumors suggesting that she underwent weight loss surgery after fans noticed her slimmer appearance.
Recently, the actress sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans questioning her changed look and speculating that she may have had surgery to achieve her new figure.
In a recent Instagram post, Mercy acknowledged her transformation but clarified that it was the result of her weight loss products, not a surgical procedure.
She humorously shut down the surgery claims, saying, “I’m married to an Esan man who didn’t even let me pierce a second hole in my ear. So, is it my belly I would tear?”
Mercy further explained, “I have been selling weight loss products for years, which means that when there is an innovation in weight loss, I’ll be among the first to know. We have the Mercy Magic tea that comes with a meal plan, we have the pill which is very coded and now my latest finding is the lean fast. It will dry you up in two months. This is no surgery zone.”
The actress’s comments come amid similar rumors surrounding other celebrities. In 2022, singer Teni also denied undergoing surgery after losing 75 pounds (34kg). Actress Eniola Badmus similarly rejected claims that her dramatic weight loss was the result of surgery. However, in 2023, comedienne Real Warri Pikin openly shared that she had undergone surgery to reduce body fat.
Mercy Johnson-Okojie’s response adds to the ongoing conversations around celebrity weight loss and the rumors that often follow public figures.
