Popular skit maker and actress Kiekie opened up about her road to fame during an interview on the TTM Show with host Tobi Makinde. Calling herself a “late bloomer,” Kiekie revealed that she began creating content back in 2013 but only rose to widespread recognition in 2020, after seven years of persistent effort.
Despite the slow start, her passion for content creation never wavered. To support her creative work, Kiekie balanced other jobs, including her role as a fashion stylist, where she once styled renowned singer Simi.
Kiekie credited her first viral success to the 2018 Fashion Shock Show, which brought her influencer opportunities and helped build her audience. She described those early years as a period of consistent hustle and self-funding.
“My story is unique because I sometimes call myself a late bloomer. It literally took seven years to gain the spotlight. I started creating content in 2013 but didn’t hit the spotlight until 2020,” she said.
Now celebrated for her infectious energy and comedic talent, Kiekie attributed her current success to years of dedication and consistency. “The moment I hit the spotlight, it just continued like that,” she added.
Her journey is a testament to resilience and the power of staying true to one’s passion, inspiring many aspiring creatives.
