During a recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Nigerian music sensation Rema had fans laughing as he shared a funny memory from his childhood, highlighting his mom’s thriftiness and fashion sense.
“Even when we weren’t rich, my mom was like, ‘You have to look good,’” Rema recalled. “She’d take me, my older brother, and my two sisters to the market, and we’d walk away with big-ass shoes and big-ass jeans that we’d somehow wear for the next three years as we grew!”
Clearly, African parents and planning ahead go hand in hand!
One fan added to the laughs by commenting: “Na rope my mama use tie my waist, say make the jeans last reach secondary school!”
Who else experienced this “buy-now-grow-into-it” wardrobe approach?
