Nollywood actor and Lagos lawmaker Desmond Elliot has responded to a fan who expressed lingering resentment over the actor’s past comments about Nigerian youths.
The backlash came after Desmond shared photos of his outfit from the AMVCA after-party on Instagram. While many fans praised his look, one follower, @iam_valasor, used the opportunity to call out the actor for his controversial remarks made during the 2020 EndSARS protests.
“I really don’t know why, but ever since that year you went and spoke against us ‘Nigerian youths’, seeing your post just dey vex me,” the fan wrote. “No offence but it is what it is.”
Surprisingly, Desmond Elliot responded with a short, apologetic reply:
“Ngwanu no vex. Na wa o.”
The comment has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising Elliot for showing humility and others continuing to hold him accountable.
