Activist Deji Adeyanju has issued a fresh statement acknowledging that human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, has been actively involved in challenging the detention of internet personality VeryDarkMan (VDM).
Adeyanju made the disclosure in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, noting that his earlier claims about Falana’s silence were incorrect.
“I have now confirmed contrary to my previous post the other day that our revered leader and mentor, Femi Falana SAN has made several calls to EFCC challenging VDM’s unlawful arrest and detention,” he wrote.
The post comes after Adeyanju had previously voiced frustration over Falana’s perceived lack of response to VDM’s arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), describing the detention as illegal.
VDM, known for his outspoken views on trending social issues, was recently picked up by the EFCC, a move that has drawn criticism and demands for his release from fans and rights advocates.
Falana’s intervention, as now confirmed by Adeyanju, adds legal weight to ongoing efforts to secure VDM’s release and to hold authorities accountable for due process.
