Nigerian disc jockey and music personality, DJ Cuppy, has opened up about a personal encounter with someone who pretended to support her but had hidden motives.
Taking to her Twitter page, the billionaire heiress recounted how she once believed she had met a genuine supporter who seemed to care about her well-being.
According to her, this individual consistently offered help and appeared to be looking out for her interests. However, she later discovered that the person’s intentions were far from sincere.
“I learnt the hard way that there’s no such thing as a FREE lunch,” Cuppy wrote.
Reflecting on the experience, she explained, “A few years ago, I really thought someone was being kind. They showed up for me, offered help, and made me feel supported. I thought it came from a good place… But later, they made it clear they expected something in return—an investment or, hilariously, an introduction to my dad.”
She admitted feeling naive for not recognizing the red flags earlier on. “I felt so stupīd for not seeing it earlier,” she added.
Cuppy concluded her message with a warning to her followers: “Learn from me… Not everything that looks like support comes from a good place!”
