Popular self-proclaimed relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has spoken out about the increasing number of Nigerian celebrities and social media influencers embracing the recent trend of slimming down and pursuing a more slender appearance.

In a recent social media post, Blessing CEO commented on the growing pressure within the entertainment and influencer industry to conform to certain beauty standards, particularly those promoting a thinner physique. She noted that many public figures are now joining the "slim and skinny" movement, often undergoing dramatic physical transformations.

"The rate at which public figures are joining the slim trend is quite alarming," she stated. "It’s like everyone suddenly wants to look like they don’t eat anymore."

Blessing expressed concern over the message this trend may be sending to younger audiences and impressionable fans who may look up to celebrities as role models. She emphasized the importance of self-acceptance and warned against the unhealthy standards being subtly promoted.

In her post, she questioned the authenticity of the sudden shift among influencers and called for more transparency: "Many of these so-called natural body transformations are sponsored by surgeries and weight loss products, yet they make it seem like it’s all hard work in the gym."

Despite her critique, Blessing CEO clarified that she isn't against weight loss or body enhancement but believes it's important for public figures to be honest about their journeys so others don't feel pressured to meet unrealistic standards.

Her comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some applauding her for addressing the issue while others argue that individuals have the right to alter their bodies however they please without judgment.

As the discussion continues, Blessing CEO remains firm in her stance, urging influencers to be mindful of the impact their choices and narratives can have on their followers.
