Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, has refuted reports suggesting he blamed Davido and Mayorkun for a downturn in his music career.
The controversy began after a post by a popular blog on X (formerly Twitter), @Naija_PR, quoted Spyro as saying, “My career experienced a setback after I featured Davido and Mayourkun.” The post, accompanied by pictures of the artistes, claimed Spyro made the statement during an interview with Hip TV, referencing the 2018 remix of his song “Funke.”
According to the blog, Spyro expected the high-profile collaboration to elevate his career but was disappointed by the outcome, which reportedly led to backlash from Davido’s supporters.
Reacting to the post, Spyro took to social media to firmly deny the claims, stating:
“This is false!!! I never said anything like this. I give you 24 hours to take this down or be prepared to face the consequences.”
The singer made it clear that he never made such remarks and warned the platform to retract the post or face legal repercussions.
