“Radio Voice” by Richard Mofe-Damijo’s opens strong with ₦34.7 million at the Nigerian Box Office
Nollywood icon Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) has stepped into the producer’s chair with a bang. His debut feature film as executive producer, Radio Voice, has grossed an impressive ₦34.7 million in its opening week (April 11–17, 2025), cementing its place as one of the year's standout cinematic releases.
A Red Carpet Premiere Backed by Glo
The film had a star-studded premiere at Alliance Française, Ikoyi, with major sponsorship from Globacom. Celebrities, fans, and industry heavyweights gathered to celebrate this new chapter in RMD’s illustrious career. Radio Voice pulled in ₦22.6 million during its opening weekend alone—earning the top spot among new releases and setting a record opening for Nile Entertainment in 2025.
A Story That Speaks to the Soul
This movie tells the redemptive story of a former sex worker who becomes the unlikely voice of a struggling radio station. As she fights the ghosts of her past, she discovers a new purpose on the airwaves. It's a tale of second chances, societal judgment, and personal growth, brought to life by a powerhouse cast.
Starring: Nancy Isime, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Deyemi Okanlawon, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Blessing Obasi, and Timini Egbuson.
The film is deeply emotional, yet empowering—one of those rare Nollywood gems that combines entertainment with meaningful commentary.
The RMD Legacy Continues
Produced under RMD Productions in partnership with Nile Entertainment, Radio Voice is only the first of two planned projects. RMD’s second film, Revelations, is currently in the works. With this transition from screen legend to producer, RMD is not just revisiting his legacy—he’s rewriting it.
