David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is expanding his entertainment empire by entering the Nigerian film industry. The Afrobeat star has revealed his plans to invest heavily in the Nollywood sector, signaling a new phase in his career.
In a candid conversation with content creator Darryl, Davido shared his long-standing passion for filmmaking, stating that if he hadn’t pursued a music career, film would have been his likely profession. His academic background in business marketing, Davido explained, prepared him for an expansive role in the entertainment world, which naturally extends to filmmaking.

"I am investing in a couple of films this year. Shout-out to my director, Dammy Twitch. We have some ideas, series coming. The film space right now in Africa is going bankrupt. So, we are definitely going to tap into that," he declared.
This new venture comes at a time when the African film industry, despite its growing prominence, faces challenges such as financial instability and a lack of infrastructure.
