The movie delves into the Yoruba concept of ori the guiding spirit that influences one’s destiny. In Ori, Ademola plays Bisade, a young man who finds himself in a whirlwind of emotional and spiritual conflict. The plot revolves around his entanglement with his friend Bosun and Bosun’s girlfriend, Temilade. 


A tragic event Temilade’s unexpected pregnancy and the resulting abortion sets off a chain of misfortunes, culminating in the deaths of key characters. Ultimately, Bisade embarks on a transformative spiritual journey, guided by Awosanmi, an elderly man who helps him understand the importance of destiny and the role of divine intervention. The film’s exploration of ori invites viewers to reflect on how personal destiny is shaped by spiritual forces, leaving a lasting impression on audiences for its philosophical depth and emotional resonance.


In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Ori, Muyiwa Ademola decided to revisit the story, offering it to a new generation of viewers with an updated version. This remake, "Ori The Rebirth", is set to hit cinemas on May 1st, 2025. 


The new film, while rooted in the same core themes of destiny, transformation, and spiritual awakening, offers a fresh take on the original. The new version promises to introduce a modernized narrative, new characters, and enhanced cinematic techniques, making it more accessible and relatable to today’s audiences.

The story of  "Ori The Rebirth" continues to explore the metaphysical forces of destiny and fate, but with a contemporary twist. It follows the journey of a new protagonist, whose life is deeply influenced by the forces of ori, yet encounters challenges and opportunities that are more reflective of the modern world.


 The updated version features a star-studded cast, including Femi Adebayo, Toyin Abraham, and Odunlade Adekola, bringing fresh energy to the story. The film's production quality has been elevated with the latest cinematic technology, ensuring it offers an immersive visual experience while staying true to the essence of the original.
