Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2baba has addressed the rumours about his alleged disappearance during his performance at comedian Capella’s Two Kings & A Guy show at Eko Hotel, Lagos, on Sunday.
Taking a lighthearted approach, 2face humorously poked fun at the circulating speculations about his safety.
Referring to the rumours of him being missing, he jokingly said that his appearance at the event was part of a plan to raise money for kidnappers to release him.
“Okay, you know what’s happening—allegedly I have been missing, I have been kidnapped. As we came for Acapella’s show—this show is to generate money for the kidnappers to release,” he said, drawing laughter from the audience.
2baba’s comments served to reassure his fans that he was safe and not a victim of any crime, dispelling the concerns surrounding his well-being.
This comes after his mother, Rose Idibia, publicly expressed concern over 2Baba’s relationship with Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker in Edo State. In a heartfelt video, Mrs. Idibia made a public plea for Ms. Osawaru to release her son from what she perceives as undue influence, urging her to remove the beads that were allegedly placed on him. She further suggested that 2Baba may not be acting of his own volition, expressing her belief that he was not in his right state of mind.
