Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed that he often feels unappreciated for his longstanding impact on the Nigerian music scene.
In a recent conversation with content creator Egungun of Lagos, shared via X on Wednesday, Davido highlighted that despite a 15-year career filled with achievements, he still doesn’t feel fully recognised for his contributions.
“I have been conquering the music industry for 15 years, but the crazy thing is that people don’t give me my flowers [credits] that I deserve,” he said.
When Egungun asked whether he believes he has haters, Davido responded, “There are haters, but when I go everywhere, they love me, so I’m like, where are the haters?”
Though he feels overlooked at times, Davido remains one of the most acclaimed artists in Nigeria and across Africa. His accomplishments were further validated at the 17th Headies Awards in Lagos, where he won both Artist of the Year and Digital Artiste of the Year.
