Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has officially entered the movie industry with the launch of his independent film studio, UR•MARV. The venture is a joint effort between Ronaldo and acclaimed British director Matthew Vaughn, known for hit action films like Kingsman and Kick-Ass.
UR•MARV is set to specialize in high-energy, action-packed films, with two projects already in development and a third one on the way. The announcement marks a major milestone in Ronaldo’s expanding business empire, as he continues to explore opportunities beyond football.
Speaking on Thursday, Ronaldo expressed excitement about the new path. “This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business,” he said.
Matthew Vaughn also shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, calling Ronaldo “a real-life superhero.” He added, “Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to creating inspiring movies with him.”
Although specific financial details of the 50-50 joint venture have not been disclosed, industry insiders view the timing as strategic. With major streaming platforms like Netflix and Disney+ driving demand for unique and engaging content, UR•MARV is poised to tap into that growing market.
Ronaldo’s off-the-pitch portfolio continues to thrive. He already holds investments in a hotel chain, a porcelain company, a media firm in Portugal, and a tennis and padel club in Lisbon. At 40 years old, the football superstar shows no signs of slowing down, proving that his ambition stretches far beyond the football field.
With UR•MARV, Ronaldo is once again redefining his legacy this time, on the big screen.
