Nollywood actress Omobolarinde Akinyanju, popularly known as Ashabi, has poured out her heart in a touching message to fans after the premiere of her latest film, The Deputy.
Ashabi, the baby mama of controversial singer Portable, hosted the grand launch of her movie while her partner was still behind bars.
Despite his absence, the Yoruba actress made headlines as she arrived at the premiere in a dramatic billionaire-inspired style, walking stick in hand and flanked by female bouncers, as onlookers cheered her on.
Following the successful event, Ashabi took to Instagram on Monday to share her deep appreciation.
In a lengthy post, she thanked her supporters from within and outside Nigeria for turning up to celebrate with her, saying their love and encouragement meant everything to her.
She described the event as more than just a movie premiere — to her, it was a vibrant celebration of storytelling, culture, and art.
She acknowledged the energy and enthusiasm of those in attendance, noting how much it moved her.
“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all my amazing fans, both at home and abroad, who took the time to grace the official launch of my movie, Deputy,” she wrote. “Your presence, love, and support meant the world to me, and I am truly humbled by the overwhelming turnout and the beautiful energy you brought with you. It was not just a movie premiere; it was a celebration of art and culture, and the power of storytelling made even more special because of you.”
Ashabi also appreciated those who supported her behind the scenes, through kind words, social media posts, and thoughtful gestures.
“Your unwavering support continues to inspire me to do more and give my best in every project I embark on. You are the reason we do this, and I’ll never take that for granted,” she added.
