Enugu, Nigeria — A 32-year-old woman, Loveth Helen Alo, has landed in legal trouble after claiming ownership of a luxurious five-bedroom duplex worth N200 million, located at the prestigious WTC Estate, Enugu. The Enugu North Magisterial District Court arraigned Alo following an investigation into the false claims.
According to SP Daniel Ndukwe, the spokesperson for the Enugu State Police Command, Alo made the startling claim during a testimony at the Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos, declaring the property as a divine blessing. However, following a petition and subsequent interrogation, Alo admitted to fabricating the ownership story and acting alone.
The charges leveled against her include obtaining by false pretence with intent to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony by attempting to sell the property in question.
Detectives from the Legal Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department arrested Alo on February 1, 2025. She has since been granted bail, and further proceedings have been scheduled for April 9, 2025.
Stay tuned for updates on this unfolding legal case.
