VeryDarkMan and ocial media activist has strongly condemned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the continuous attacks by suspected herdsmen, cautioning that the worsening violence could trigger a religious crisis in Nigeria.
Taking to his Instagram page on Saturday, he voiced his frustration over the government’s inaction, particularly in states like Benue and Edo, where communities have been repeatedly targeted. He accused authorities of deliberately ignoring the issue while innocent Nigerians continued to suffer.
“Alright, so dear President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, today is your birthday but I cannot wish you a happy birthday because you yourself don’t wish your people well. If you wish your people well, you will understand that this whole herdsmen issue is slowly gaining strength, and very soon, it might result in a religious war in Nigeria.”
The activist lamented that despite his persistent efforts to highlight the herdsmen crisis, both the government and the media had largely ignored the matter. Referring to the recent attack in Uromi, Edo State, he expressed regret over not being able to visit the area before the incident occurred.
“It feels like the government is afraid of this herdsmen issue,” he continued. “They don’t want to talk about it. Now, look at where it is heading. Next thing, it will turn into a religious war because Northerners are now claiming that Muslims are being killed. And for some reason, the media doesn’t want this matter to get attention.”
He also criticised the government’s decision to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State while allegedly turning a blind eye to the increasing insecurity caused by herdsmen. He warned that failure to take immediate action could lead to a total breakdown of order.
Despite his strong rebuke of the authorities, VeryDarkMan maintained his stance against jungle justice. Recalling a personal incident where he narrowly escaped being lynched, he urged Nigerians not to take the law into their own hands, regardless of the situation.
“Jungle justice is never the way. No matter what, I will always condemn it. I will never support jungle justice. Never!” he declared.
Wrapping up his message, he cautioned those in power, particularly President Tinubu, to urgently tackle the crisis before it escalates into a full-scale religious conflict.
“Be careful, this thing will give birth to a religious war very soon. We are slowly approaching it.”
