Tyla, a Grammy-winning South African singer, has claimed that Nigerian R&B star Tems is among her musical influences.
Speaking with American outlet Billboard, the ‘Water’ singer expressed that Tems’ musical success has significantly inspired her.
“Tems is a big one. What she’s been able to do has been very inspiring,” she said.
Tyla also cited Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, and Aaliyah as key influences on her music.
In another part of the interview, she revealed that her second album is set to drop this year.
She suggested that the album would take a completely different direction from her self-titled debut.
