In a shocking turn of events, the much-anticipated arraignment of Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, former manager of gospel sensation Mercy Chinwo, has been postponed by a Federal High Court in Lagos.
Onyedikachukwu, alongside his company Eezee Tee, is facing serious fraud charges—accused by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of laundering and dishonestly converting a staggering $340,000.
The courtroom drama unfolded on Thursday, with Justice Alexander Owoeye putting a hold on the proceedings, citing unresolved administrative issues. While both the prosecution (led by Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari) and the defense team expressed readiness, the judge made it clear—no plea until the matter is sorted.
The defense, however, is fighting back, insisting the case is a mere contract dispute, not a criminal offense.
