Desert Drifter' Andrew Cross Dies After Severe Car Crash in Colorado

Prominent YouTuber Andrew Cross, known as "Desert Drifter" to his half a million fans, has passed away at the age of 36. The adventurer and explorer succumbed to injuries sustained in a severe car accident in Colorado on January 31. According to his sister, Jenna Spooner, Andrew died peacefully on Tuesday after being taken off life support.

Andrew's family had made the difficult decision to remove him from life support earlier this week, after acknowledging his discomfort. Before his passing, Andrew's loved ones took him on a mobile ventilator and walked a loop around the ICU, with staff lining the hallway to honor him. Friends and family then gathered in the room to read scripture, pray, and sing during the process of removing life support.

Andrew's YouTube channel, "Desert Drifter," had gained a massive following, with fans drawn to his exploration and adventure videos, which often featured desert tours and mountain climbs. The Virginia-born adventurer had a unique style, blending history and exploration in his vlogs.

The Mesa County Coroner's Office in Colorado confirmed Andrew's death to TMZ on Wednesday, stating that he had died from injuries sustained in the January 31 crash. Andrew's passing has sent shockwaves through the YouTube community, with fans and fellow creators mourning the loss of the talented and adventurous YouTuber.
