Lateef Adedimeji and his wife, Mo Bimpe, are overjoyed after their movie "Lisabi" bagged an impressive 10 nominations at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA). The nominations include Best Indigenous Language West Africa, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and several others.
To express their gratitude, the couple shared a video on social media, showing them and their crew members in a worship session. Mo Bimpe took to Twitter to thank the AMVCA organizers for the nominations, calling it a "pleasant birthday gift."
Lateef Adedimeji has come a long way in his career, and this recognition is a testament to his hard work. His film "Lisabi" has received widespread acclaim, even returning to the top 10 movies spot on Netflix in December last year.
The movie celebrates the legacy of Lisabi, a legendary Egbaland warrior. Lateef's wife, Mo Bimpe, had expressed her excitement when "Lisabi" ranked among the top 10 most searched movies in 2024. She noted that data doesn't lie, and she's glad that when people talk about filmmaking in 2024, they're among them.
Following the success of "Lisabi," the couple released a sequel, which also made it to the list of 2024's most searched Nigerian films. With 10 AMVCA nominations, "Lisabi" is undoubtedly one of the most successful films of the year.
