Performing at the AY Live comedy concert was a life-changing moment for Soundgod Runtown, opening doors to what seemed like a dream opportunity with Eric Manny Entertainment, the biggest record label of its time. However, the glittering promise of stardom came at a cost—a rift with his trusted confidant and mentor, Phyno.
Torn between loyalty and ambition, Runtown's decision to sign the deal not only launched his career but also led to unforeseen challenges that echoed far beyond his success. This is the story of talent, sacrifice, and the complicated path to fame.
"I went to perform at an AY live comedy concert and after performing my friend came to me backstage and told me ERIC MANNY ENTERTAINMENT ceo wants to see me and he loves my talent.
I went to meet him and he told me he loved my talent and he would want to sign me.
I was super excited about this record deal coz Eric Manny entertainment was the biggest record label at that moment.
I went to meet phyno who i considered as my big bro and told him about the deal.
Phyno wasn't happy about it and he tried talking me out of the deal coz we had come a long way together, we had arguments which lead us to split and went separate ways coz i felt he was hindering my success but i still consider him as my Big bro and i pray in the future we work on a joint album.
Soundgod Runtown reveals in an interview how him and Phyno because enemies because of the same record label that gave him fame and ended he's career.
Had it been he had listened to Phyno and started with him by now Runtown would have been competing with the big 3.
It's just so sad bro fell off just because of greedy people who owns a record label that just want to feed fat from another person's talent coz they have money and connection.
