Elsie Okpocha, former wife of Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has shared advice for women experiencing divorce or a breakup.
In an Instagram video on Saturday, she urged women in similar situations to rediscover their happiness and smile again. Elsie reassured them that they would overcome their struggles and that better things were on the way.
According to the mother of two, such ladies believe that the other woman is superior to them and that they have not fought enough.
Elsie affirmed that they had exerted their utmost effort and that the other women could never surpass them due to their uniqueness.
Despite coming from a broken household, she also reassured them that their children would be okay.
She said, “In celebration of Women’s International Month, I want to say this to every woman out there going through a heartbreak, failed relationship, or marriage: You will smile again and be happy. I promise you. I don’t know how long it will take, but something good will happen. You are going to look back and say, “I can’t believe I went through this.” I promise you.
“Now, it feels like your world has ended, and you aren’t getting yourself. Yes, I know that feeling. You feel like the other one is better than you, and you didn’t fight her enough in your marriage. Trust me, you did your best. The other woman was never better than you and can never be better because you are unique in your own way.
“You may feel your children will come from a broken home, but trust me, your children will be fine.
So, this is me saying to you, “You will be fine. Go out and thrive.”
