The Federal High Court in Abuja has postponed the N400 million fraud case against former Anambra South Senator, Andy Uba, to March 17. This decision was made to allow the amended charge to be properly served on Uba and his co-defendant, Benjamin Etu.

Uba and Etu face two counts related to the alleged misappropriation of N400 million. The amended charge accuses them of conspiring to commit fraud by falsely presenting to George Uboh that they could secure the appointment of Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for any interested person willing to pay N400 million.

The charge further states that Uba, Etu, and Hajiya Fatima (now at large) made a representation to Uboh that they had perfected a way to secure the NDDC appointment, which they knew to be false. This allegedly led to the collection of the money, constituting an offense contrary to the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud-Related Offenses Act, 2006.

The Nigerian Police, represented by the Inspector General of Police, is the complainant in the case. The adjournment grants time for legal procedures to be completed before the next hearing. As the case unfolds, it continues to draw public interest, given Uba's political influence.
