In a heart-wrenching revelation, Nigerian music sensation Anthony Ebuka Victor, known as Victony, has announced he is preparing for yet another surgery. This will be his fifth attempt to alleviate the persistent pain in his leg, a remnant of a devastating car accident from 2021 that nearly claimed his life and tragically took another.
Victony, who was left wheelchair-bound for nearly a year following the accident, bared his soul in a candid interview with Chude Jideonwo, saying, "My leg still hurts. I am still going to do another surgery. I’m living it. I have just accepted that experience."
This ordeal has sculpted not just his physical form but his very identity. "It’s what is making me who I am today. That’s my story. I don’t want to happily identify with it but it’s part of my story," he shared, revealing the emotional toll the accident has taken. Victony also opened up about spending three to four days in a coma post-accident, and the subsequent "survival guilt" he grappled with upon learning of the fatality.
His resilience in the face of such adversity continues to inspire fans and peers alike, as the music community rallies around him, hoping for a successful surgery and a pain-free future.
