Governor Adeleke Calls on Tinubu to Curb Oyetola’s Actions, Warns of Potential Crisis in Osun State

 Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has raised an alarm over the actions of Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, warning that they could plunge the state into crisis. Speaking to journalists at the Government House in Osogbo, Adeleke accused Oyetola of collaborating with security chiefs to enforce a non-existent court order aimed at reinstating sacked local government chairmen. The governor described this move as illegal and a potential trigger for unrest in the state.

Adeleke emphasized that the Court of Appeal ruling did not reinstate the dismissed chairmen and councilors, urging President Bola Tinubu to intervene and restrain Oyetola. He called on the National Security Adviser and the Attorney General of the Federation to independently verify the court’s decision and put an end to what he termed as “political interference.” The governor warned that if Oyetola’s actions are not checked, the people of Osun may be forced to defend themselves, which could escalate tensions.

The governor also lamented the alleged influence of Oyetola, who he claimed is leveraging his relationship with President Tinubu to manipulate security chiefs in the state. “It is unfortunate that Osun security chiefs are taking instructions from Mr. Gboyega Oyetola just because he is the nephew of Mr. President,” Adeleke stated. He reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace but stressed the need for urgent intervention to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control.

Adeleke’s appeal highlights the growing political tension in Osun State, as he seeks to uphold the rule of law and protect the state from potential chaos.
