Temilade Openiyi, one of Nigeria's hottest prospects, popularly known as Tems, has canceled her upcoming concert in Kigali, Rwanda, citing the country's involvement in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) conflict. The concert was scheduled to take place on March 22, 2025, at the BK Arena. Tems announced the cancellation on her social media platforms, sharing a graphic with a prominent "CANCELLED" stamp in red.

The singer expressed her solidarity with the victims of the conflict and emphasized the importance of standing against violence and human rights violations. She conveyed her hope for a peaceful resolution and extended her thoughts to those affected by the turmoil. The cancellation comes amid reports of intensified attacks by the M23 rebel group, supported by Rwanda, in eastern DRC, leading to significant civilian casualties and displacements.

The conflict in DRC has been ongoing, with Rwanda's involvement being a major point of contention. The capture of Goma, a key city in the region, by M23 rebels has been described as a "declaration of war" by the DRC government. Tems' decision to cancel her concert is a statement against Rwanda's role in the conflict and a show of support for the people affected by it. Fans who had purchased tickets for the concert are advised to contact the official ticketing outlets for refund procedures.
