Veteran Nollywood actor and former musician Segun Arinze has opened up about his decision to step away from the music industry and his plans to make a non-commercial return.
In a recent appearance on the show ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’, hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Arinze clarified that his departure from music was not due to failure but a deliberate choice to focus on his acting career.
“I didn’t fail as a musical artist. I left music on my own volition. If I wanted to do music, I would have continued,” he said.
The actor, who studied Theatre Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, shared that his academic background and passion for the arts gave him a strong foundation in both music and acting.
Arinze revealed that he plans to return to music in the future but emphasized that it would be purely for passion, not profit.
“I can always go back to music. I didn’t fail. I’ve two albums. I suspended it [my music career]. When I feel it’s time, I will go back. I still sing. The voice is still there,” he assured fans.
He added, “I will be going back to music but I won’t be coming into it for commercial reasons. I will return to music just because I want to sing, not because I want to make money.”
The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, many of whom are eager to see Arinze showcase his vocal talents once again. Known for his versatility and dedication, his return to music is expected to be a testament to his enduring passion for the craft.
