The management team of Peter Okoye (Mr. P) has responded to allegations made by British-Nigerian singer Darkoo, who accused the artist of sabotaging her music video for "Focus on Me".
Darkoo alleged that the video was taken down for six days because she declined Mr. P’s request to feature on the track. She also claimed that Mr. P insisted on excluding his brothers, Jude and Paul Okoye, from the clearance process, leading to retaliation when she refused to comply.
In a statement released by One Management, Mr. P’s team dismissed these allegations as "opportunistic and malicious." They clarified that the issue arose due to improper clearance by Darkoo’s team for the song, which sampled P-Square’s hit "Gimme Dat".
Management’s Clarifications:
- Improper Clearance: Darkoo’s team allegedly sought permission from an unauthorized entity, resulting in the temporary removal of the video on January 2, 2025, to prevent legal complications.
- Resolution: The video was reinstated after the proper agreements were finalized.
- False Claims: The management refuted claims that Mr. P demanded a 50% split or a feature on the track, asserting that his involvement was strictly professional.
