Popular Nigerian comedian and actor Adebowale "Mr. Macaroni" Adedayo has defended his decision to repeatedly snub Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, asserting that the governor holds no importance to him.
The skit maker’s remarks came after criticism from a user on X (formerly Twitter) who accused him of disrespecting the governor to gain public favor. The critic, identified as John, wrote, “To d’ifa fun a certain Macaroni who, in an attempt to please the mob, snubbed the governor of Lagos State. Omo ase.”
In response, Mr. Macaroni fired back, reaffirming his disinterest in the governor and criticizing those who defend political figures at all costs. “I will continue to snub your governor. He means nothing to me, nor do you, your father, or your father’s father!” he retorted.
The comedian further described such critics as "slaves" loyal to their so-called masters and emphasized his unwavering stance on social and political issues. He also vowed to confront any attempts to bring up the matter again.
Mr. Macaroni has been a vocal advocate for social justice and a critic of government actions, particularly during the #EndSARS protests in 2020, where he became a prominent voice against police brutality and governance in Lagos State.
