Popular Nigerian crossdresser and socialite Bobrisky, real name Idris Okuneye, has joined the growing calls for the release of controversial rapper Speed Darlington from detention.

Speed Darlington was arrested following allegations that he accused Burna Boy of having an illicit relationship with American music executive Diddy to secure a Grammy win. Despite a court order for his release, Darlington remains in custody, sparking mixed reactions across social media.

Taking to Instagram, Bobrisky pleaded with Burna Boy to forgive the rapper and ensure his release, suggesting that 45 days in detention was sufficient punishment.

“I just wanna mind my business this year and stay away from anything that connects with Nigerian celebrities. But my soft heart won’t stop me from thinking of many things,” Bobrisky wrote.

“Pls Burna Boy, forgive Speed [Darlington]. Pls, prison is not a nice place. I don’t think he has money for a VIP section cos it’s expensive.”

Bobrisky’s appeal has drawn attention to the controversy, with fans debating the appropriateness of Speed Darlington’s continued detention and the role of forgiveness in the entertainment industry.
