Music executive and entrepreneur Ubi Franklin has addressed persistent comments labeling him as Davido’s personal assistant (PA) or nanny, clarifying his professional role in a firm and measured response.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ubi responded to a user who referred to him as a PA to the Afrobeats superstar and his wife, emphasizing his business expertise and the value he brings to Davido’s operations.
“Ubi is the CEO of Mademusicg, and if you see me working for Davido, it’s because I have the required qualifications and experience to do the job of a business administrator,” he wrote.
“David calls me #thesolutionist, do with that what you want. Definitely not his PA or nanny like most of you have tried to taunt me with. If that makes you happy, so be it. I am on the business end, and that’s where I’ll always be.”
This isn’t the first time Ubi has been teased about his role in Davido’s circle. Nigerian artist Timaya jokingly referred to him as Davido’s “employed nanny” in a March 2022 tweet. In October 2023, Davido himself joined the banter, playfully calling Ubi a “nanny” while they were traveling together on a private jet.
Despite the humor, Ubi’s recent response underscores his focus on professionalism and the critical contributions he makes as part of Davido’s business team.
Ubi’s career spans roles as an artist manager, entrepreneur, and business administrator. His involvement with Davido reflects his ability to adapt and excel in various capacities within the entertainment industry.
