Former Big Brother Naija star Tacha, whose full name is Natacha Anita Akide, has opened up about her recent move to the United Kingdom. In a candid interview with British media personality Madame Joyce, Tacha revealed that her decision to relocate was driven by her achievements in Nigeria and a desire to explore broader opportunities abroad.
Tacha described her relocation as a natural progression after dominating the Nigerian market. She emphasized that while she is now based in the UK, she remains open to working with Nigerian brands if the terms are right.
“I relocated to the UK because I have conquered the whole of the Nigerian market. Relocating doesn’t mean I’m not going to do Nigerian deals. If the offer is good, why not?”
She also shed light on the challenges of the Nigerian influencing scene, particularly the financial limitations: “The influencing scene in Nigeria looks so beautiful, but behind the scenes, it’s not as beautiful as it seems because the money is poor.”
Tacha explained that the payment structure hasn’t evolved since her rise to fame in 2019, despite the increasing cost of maintaining an influencer lifestyle: “Someone would pay you N6 million, that’s around $3,000, for you to influence for six months and post two videos a month. N6 million seems good, but when you have to convert it to dollars, travel abroad, and spend money to look good, there’s nothing left.”
Tacha’s move signifies her ambition to expand her influence and brand globally.
