Nigerian singer Crown Uzama, famously known as Shallipopi, has hailed legendary rapper Olamide as the "king of Nigerian street music." In a recent interview with Naija FM, Shallipopi revealed his reason for featuring Olamide on his hit track Order, emphasizing the rapper's massive influence on the Nigerian street music scene.
“Baddo [Olamide] is the father and king of Nigerian street music. So I had to feature him on Order because it is a street song and Olamide owns the street,” Shallipopi explained.
Shallipopi also took the opportunity to clarify his recent exit from Dapper Music, confirming he left after his contract ended and dismissed rumors of a dispute. “There is no bad blood between us; we’re on good terms,” he stated, expressing gratitude to Dapper Music for their role in his career so far.
The singer’s tribute to Olamide, alongside his strides as an independent artist, has only deepened fans' anticipation for what he brings next to the Afrobeats and street music scene.
