Nigerian sensation Rema has broken records yet again! His global hit ‘Calm Down Remix’ with pop star Selena Gomez has officially surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube, setting a new standard for Afrobeats worldwide.
Uploaded two years ago on Gomez’s YouTube channel, the remix’s popularity has soared, making it the first Nigerian song to ever reach this milestone.
The achievement doesn’t end there—Calm Down Remix is also the fastest African song to reach 1 billion views, establishing its place in the global music scene. Meanwhile, the original version is holding strong with over 619 million views on YouTube.
This isn’t the first streaming record for Calm Down Remix. Last year, it became the first African song to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify and currently boasts over 1.5 billion streams on the platform.
