The Recording Academy unveiled the nominees on November 8, showcasing some of Nigeria’s finest talents, including Yemi Alade’s Tomorrow, Asake and Wizkid’s MMS, Burna Boy’s Higher, Tems’ Love Me JeJe, and Chris Brown’s Sensational featuring Davido and Lojay.
This category reflects Nigeria’s growing influence in global music, following South African singer Tyla's win for Water in the category’s debut last year.
Further highlighting Nigeria’s impact, Tems and Rema both received nominations in the Best Global Music Album category for Born In The Wild and HEIS, respectively, competing against Matt B and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Ciro Hurtado, and Antonio Rey.
Tems also earned a nod in the Best R&B Song category for her track Burning, where she stands among R&B heavyweights like SZA and Kehlani.
