AY explained that the origins of the beef were unclear to him, saying, “I didn’t know when it started. I just woke up one day, and there was this divide. It grew as people fueled it with more rumors.”
Basketmouth added his perspective on the long-running rivalry, noting how it forced mutual friends and collaborators to take sides. “Some people took it upon themselves to swear allegiance. Now that we’re cool, they’d probably feel out of place. It’s now about collaboration over competition.”
The reconciliation marks a pivotal moment for fans, with both comedians vowing to focus on supporting one another, bringing a close to a saga that had kept the Nigerian comedy scene divided for years.
